Crossing the Line
by Ellen Wolfson Valladares
Laura Sherman has received her first assignment at The Academy, an after-life school for teenagers. Laura, the beloved Homecoming Queen of St. Pete Southern High School, who died in a murder-suicide thirty years ago, must revisit her old school to save the troubled Teresa from a fate similar to her own. But first, Laura will have to gain the attention and trust of Rebecca, a skeptical, reluctant participant who has no idea she can communicate with spirits.
Rebecca struggles with what people will think of her if they find out she can “talk to dead people.” Still, her curiosity takes over as she begins to uncover details about Laura Sherman’s life and death for an article she’s writing for the high school newspaper. Rebecca’s friendships and her new relationship with Tyler are put on the line as she becomes entangled in Laura’s story and the mission to help Teresa. As she gets close to unraveling the truth about Laura’s death, Rebecca finds herself in a potentially dangerous situation. Laura Sherman’s spirit must risk everything to help both Rebecca and Teresa, and set the record straight once and for all.
